d2w® is a revolutionary additive created by Symphony Environmental Technologies plc, a world leading company in the development of totally degradable plastics.

d2w® is put into SaniPod™ liners at the extrusion stage making the finished product "oxo-biodegradable" and non-toxic so that it will degrade and disappear in a short timescale. Extensively tested and proven by independent test laboratories, this additive works to break down the carbon-carbon bonds in the plastic leading to a lowering of the molecular weight and eventually to a loss of strength and other properties.

d2w® 'totally degradable' plastic is superior to 'bio-degradable' which requires the plastic to be in a biologically active environment (for example, by being buried in the ground) before the degradation process is initiated.
